Great performances by Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman. I just loved how well they captured hope in a hopeless situation. Dreaming dreams while living a nightmare. The nightmare in this case was a bit more then I could stomach but overall the screenplay is poetic and the film moves like art. I have seen this movie 3 times and will watch it again just for the performances between Robbins and Freeman. This is a powerful film.
